B... for... ?

Since young.. we learned this.. B for Boy.. B for biscuits.. B for Ballot paper... and also B.. for Beluran... a place i spent my 2013...

Beluran is a place least heard by most of the Malaysian.. and yes.. it is the smallest so called town in Sabah which is located 87 km away from Sandakan. And yes... this is the place i being perintah to.. to work here as a pharmacist.

In my whole life.. i've honestly never been imagine that one day i will be in this place. A place where u can experienced no electricity 3 times a week in a row, no water supply... no shopping mall.. no grocery shopping... no proper tar road, no traffic lights, and etc....... too much to b elaborated.

Yes, a place a city girl could never imagine.

i admit. I grew up in a city. Although ipoh is not the capital of Malaysia, but we still had what we need. We have all the neccesities, we hv leisure and entertainment, we have proper tar road, clean water , stable electricity , we have MBI to help us clean the place and we have a very well equipped GH.

In this place Beluran, is a town where u can finish touring within 15 minutes if u r driving 60km/h. Yes, i'm not joking it is tat small. And here mainly comprised of orang asli, kadazan and dusun. They, staying in rumah papan. when i first stepped into this town, i never know that.. this is a town. Is like a kampung, a place smaller than Gunung Rapat.

Here, there is no shopping mall, only old style kedai runcit made out of rumah papan. Here there is no traffic light because is not neccessary at all.. never will have traffic jam; here there is no stable electricity bcox claimed that the power supply is never enough since 10 years back, and still nobody ever bother. here, the GH had only minimal equipment.

First day after touch down, me n my best colleague now.. SL, checked into a motel. Yes, motel because this place dun even have a hotel. Then we started up n down to search for a house for us to rent. And, there is no choice for u to choose. only one house to rent, which is semi brick and semi papan... take it or leave it.

So, we picked up . first few weeks we admit we had hard time getting use to this place. This type of lifestyle. people here r different, thinking different, mentality different, lifestyle different.

how different? couldnt be elaborated in a line or two. but in all, people here simple yet happy. They might be poor, they might dun have a fridge at home , but they are happy for having a shelter to protect them from rain ; they might not have a great job, but they are grateful enough for being able to feed all his children.

They make me realise, i'm blessed, for being so lucky since young, for having things i wan, for able to go travel around, for being able to being treated as a princess when i'm back home.

yes, now i know, i will appreciate everything i have.
