p/s : this is a post that supposed to be up during december 2012... before the myth of end of the world.. but sorry i just realise it now..
this is my second time stepping into this town.. and the feeling is so much more different compared to the first time...
i think we cn practically known it as an unplanned backpacking trip...
so first thing first when we arrive, grab our check in luggage and head to tourist information counter. Ok... ppl here are quite polite and when we asked using cantonese, they are pretty impressed and asked where r we from.. oh well Malaysia..
so first thing first.. we bought our octopus card ... and to all backpackers...this card is definately very important for u to travel around hong kong for their MTR , and buses... and u can even use the octopus card to pay in 7-11 or buy food fr vending machine.. u jus hv to pay HKD 50 as deposit. Then top it up with the amount u want.
| in airport... finally we reached after 3 hours plus flight ... |
our first ride on the bus... ooops sorry a bit blur... too shaky ~
and yooo-hoooo after like 20 ~ 30 minutes ride, we finally reach kowloon , where our hotel located. And wow , kowloon is definately a hectic town. People here walking is super speedy mode, us with our luggage definately caused some traffic issue i guess... with our map, we missed out a few turns, walked thru and flo and with some guidance from some hong kies.... we finally able to reach our hotel ~ HARBOUR HOTEL.
After check in, immediately we dump our luggage, change to our booties... and started off our first day tour in HONG KONG !
First thing first, we hunt for food... street food and dim sum ! yes we read some other blogs and found a michelin rated dim sum near our hotel, so we went there ~~~ WOAH... LONG QUEUE..... we took a number... and they said need to wait for 45 min... fine then... we took the number and not to waste any second we hunt for other street food.
Hong kong is famous for street food. and their street food have much varieties... include like sotong, meatballs, curry fish balls, waffle, smelly taufu, egg roll, and etc .
Then, with 50% full stomach, we went bac to our michelin dim sum .. known as 'xin yun lai' . The place was still crowded with long queue.
'no XXX'' .. wah is our turn !!!! hooray.... we rushed in with excitement... and tada ... the place is so so so small... it oni fits like around 10 tables, and there are oni one small space for you to slide in to sit on ur chair. And, one thing u mus get use in hong kong is that u mus always share table with unknown stranger, but never mind, is a new try. So, we sat down and ordered 90% of the must eat dim sum.
We had xiu mai, ha gau, lo bak gou, guai fa gou, chicken feet, fried mee, some other different types of dumplings.... BUT.... is either our taste bud problem, or the food standard deteriorate, i dun really like the taste of their dim sum. Is slightly dissapointing to be honest. My girl firends think so too.... so we feel like hmmmm this standard.... and is rated michelin?
ok how bad it is? the prawns are small... the xiu mai doesnt taste fresh, and the fried mee tasteless, the chicken feet has nothing special... of cox it doenst tasted sucks, but jus nothing special as expected. Perhaps we over rated it before we went in. :P
so at night ... We started our shopping spree !!!!
First night ... facial products, skin care and perfume...
A must shop to visit when u r in hong kong for facial product is definately BONJOUR !
is like a chain shop like watson and guardian but all their things are 20- 30% cheaper compared to it. So go grabbed ... if u are a fans of hada labo... it sells real cheap there...
and perfume also definaly cheaper.. grab all u want here :P
